We all encounter barriers as we move through life, but how we perceive and interpret our difficulties determines their effect on our functioning. It can also undermine our confidence in our ability to meet and address them. I view therapy as a collaborative process that can be used to examine and challenge our perceptions of those barriers and to explore, develop, and enhance the strategies we use to meet them every day. I utilize warmth, authenticity, and compassion to create a safe and non-judgmental environment in which my clients can work through their challenges and emerge stronger, healthier, and happier.
I specialize in working with adolescents and adults to address such issues as trauma, depression, and anxiety, and while all are welcome, many of my clients identify along the LGBTQ+ spectrum. I also provide treatment for those experiencing thought disorders (such as Schizophrenia), and am comfortable offering these services in alignment with medication management that is being addressed by an outside physician.
Regardless of the issue, my training and experience has provided a foundation in research supported treatments, which I tailor to meet the needs of each individual client.
