Each individual's treatment plan will look a little different, but I start by selecting treatment options that have been shown to be effective and efficient for your area or areas of concern. I explain the components of each option and why I feel they would be a good fit, and together we determine your course of therapy. Moving forward, we will regularly check in about your treatment progress and will incorporate minor or major course corrections when necessary.
Yes. At this time, I am only meeting with individuals on-line (Washington and California residents only).
Unfortunately,I am unable to accept new clients at this time. Please feel free to contact me through this website or you can email me at carol@dr-woods.org if you would like more information about our waitlist.
I currently accept Aetna, Optum, and United Healthcare insurance. I am considered “Out-of-Network” for other plans at this time but can offer a "superbill" that can be submitted to your insurance. I strongly encourage you to check with your plan prior to scheduling to determine the nature and extent of your out-of-network benefits. I can provide a handy checklist that can help you obtain all the necessary information.
If you prefer to pay out-of-pocket, my rate is $210 per therapy session; unfortunately, this option is not available for Medicare or Medicaid members. Your first appointment will likely be longer than 50 minutes, but you will be charged the same rate ($210). Payment is due at the time of service.
I do offer a limited number of reduced fee spots. Please contact me at carol@dr-woods.org if you would like to be added to the waiting list.
I attended the University of Washington for my undergraduate degree and Sam Houston State University (in Texas) for my master’s degree and doctorate. My clinical background includes the provision of treatment and evaluation services at a community mental health clinic, a number of forensic settings, juvenile and adult inpatient facilities, as well as private practice settings. I have extensive training and experience working with individuals with mood disturbances (such as depression and bipolar disorder), traumatic histories, as well as psychotic or thought disorders.
